The power of positive thought can heal you. We can heal ourselves from physical and emotional disorders just by thinking positively. Try to picture yourself lying on a sandy beach on a lush island. You will feel the warmth of the sun and the balmy breeze on your body. You hear the wind in the trees, the chatter of birds, and waves gently breaking. You may go for a swim in the warm, clear blue water, and afterward, you feel relaxed, energized, and perfectly at peace with yourself.
The glimpse of paradise just described above is the kind of escapist fantasy we all indulge in from time to time. Yet, daydreams like this can be powerful, healthy, healing, and general well beings.
The blue color of the Ocean has been to be associated with feelings of calm and peace. Staring at the ocean actually changes our brain waves’ frequency and puts us into a mild meditative state.”
Moreover, a study published in the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s journal even found that blue is associated with a boost of creativity.
The smell of the ocean breeze also contributes to your soothed state, which may have something to do with the negative ions in the air that you’re breathing in, thus healing yourself.
Creative Visualization to heal yourself
Self-training and exploitation of your imagination through creative visualization can help you adapt to a more healthy way of living and improve or even cure all kinds of health and mental issues.
But could this really be possible? We know from experience that our bodies will react to medicines. But can it really be true that we can heal a variety of physical, emotional, or psychological disorders merely by thinking ourselves well?
Obviously, you can heal yourself.
How to start visualization to heal yourself?
Creative visualization can only work if the person really wants to achieve whatever it is they are attempting to visualize.
If the imagination can be harnessed to work with the will, you can achieve what you really want.
When we are dreaming anything seems possible, but when we are conscious and the left side of the brain becomes active, our dreams seem confused and bizarre.
Creative visualization is carried out by the intuitive right side of the brain, largely responsible for dreaming, creativity, and emotional responses. This side of our brain is much more open to suggestion, particularly when we are relaxed than the logical left-hand side f the brain which is mainly responsible for reasoning and analysis.
Thus, if you learn to relax deeply and use the technique, you will be able to make far more effective changes in your life than you will by thinking, worrying, planning, and trying to manipulate things and people.
How to improve creative visualization?
Draw and cut out a number of colored shapes. Look at each one in turn, then shut your eyes and visualize it. Then look carefully at the objects around you and repeat the process again.
Close your eyes and imagine someone walking, dancing swimming; imagine the sound of a bell, a voice calling your name, children playing, birds chirping; touching warm seawater; imagine the smell of perfume, a bonfire, a flower, or delicious recipes.
Step by step to heal yourself
Start by relaxing, free yourself by closing your eyes, and lying on a flat surface, either indoors or outdoors.
Once you are fully relaxed, spend five minutes or more visualizing your goal.
Try more easily achievable goals, to begin with, to build confidence and your visualization skills before you start tackling more difficult topics.
If your goal was to have more confidence when meeting people, you could affirm this while visualizing your goal by thinking, “I am always confident when meeting new people.” Do this when you are in your relaxed state but also try doing it in front of a mirror when you get up in the morning.
Remember, if your aim is to gain more confidence in your daily life, you could imagine your confidence as an invisible and impenetrable force cover around you, or a white light glowing within you as you go about your daily life.
